Romania: driving restrictions (>7.5 t) due to heat waves from 13 July to 14 July 2024, between 10:00 and 20:00
As a result of heat warnings (Code Red) issued by the National Meteorological Administration, the National Company for Road Infrastructure Administrations - CNAIR - decided to impose driving restrictions from 13 July to 14 July 2024, between 10h00 and 20h00, for vehicles with a maximum authorized total weight of more than 7.5 t on the sections of national road, express roads, and highways in the following counties: Ilfov, Giurgiu, Teleorman, Argeș, Dâmbovița, Prahova, Ialomița, Călărași, Dolj, Olt, Vâlcea, Gorj, Mehedinți, Timiș, Caraș-Severin, Arad, Bihor, Satu Mare, Suceava, Botoșani, Neamț, Iași, Bacău, Vaslui, Buzău, Vrancea, Galați and Brăila.
CNAIR mentions that depending on the evolution of weather conditions, the restrictions may be lifted, maintained or extended.

The following transport operations are excepted from the driving restrictions:
- Passenger transport
- Consignments of live animals and perishable products of animal and plant origin
- Vehicles participating in interventions in case of force majeure
- Funeral transports
- Postal transports
- Transports of first-aid equipment
- Transport for the distribution of fuel
- Temperature-controlled transport of goods
- Transports for towing damaged vehicles
- Transports for the distribution of water and food in disaster areas
- Transport by specialized vehicles designed by construction for sanitation
- Bottled water transports
- Consignments of products from agricultural holdings
- Military transports involved in multinational exercises.
